DIRECTOR · ACTOR · WRITER
MD, PhD — medical professional and scientist who has transitioned to a career in theatre. Founder and artistic director of Glass Bead Theatre. Focuses on experimental and multidisciplinary projects, staging philosophically resonant works for diverse audiences. His recent credits include adapting and directing "The Cagebirds", "Behind Closed Doors" and writing and directing "KeyWords: Wagner & Nietzsche". As a performer/dancer, he has recently been part of a short film "InCubus" and an immersive performance "Calibration".

SCENOGRAPHER · LIGHTING DESIGNER
Experimental scenographer and researcher with previous experience in architecture. Designed scenography, stage and lighting for Behind Closed Doors.
Alkmini Damianakou
COMPOSER
Dmitry Surugin is an Amsterdam-based composer, electronic musician and sound artist, trained in sound engineering at SAE Amsterdam. His work moves between electronic composition, acoustic instruments, field recordings and archival sound, with a strong focus on atmosphere, narrative and interdisciplinary performance. His recent project Ingrian Tape explores memory, cultural disappearance and belonging through his Ingrian heritage, expanding from music into theatre and visual forms. With Glass Bead Theatre, he has composed, designed sound and performed live for productions including Behind Closed Doors and Cagebirds.

Anastasia Gorshunova is a cultural producer and project manager working at the intersection of theatre, music, contemporary art and storytelling. Her background ranges from international art&science exhibitions to large-scale charity and educational events and cultural media projects. She is drawn to projects that cross disciplines, experiment with form and turn complex ideas into vivid, engaging experiences.

Photography and theater are among the things I truly love. They both have a degree of magic to them. I can't remember myself not taking photos - ever since I got my first camera at around age 11. About that same time I played in my first ever play on stage. As an adult, I even did a couple of years of acting school. So, theater photography has a special place in my list of hobbies, with travel, drawing and building things among others. I've been living in Amsterdam for three years now and still discovering its magic every day.

Her work is dynamic and interdisciplinary, rooted in storytelling and deeply informed by my background in dance and movement.

Dmitry "Di" Ratushnyy is an improviser pulled into theatre, based in Amsterdam. He trained at Boom Chicago and Easy Laughs, and took courses in character comedy, clowning, and creative writing. He performed with the improv group "Two Minds Working as one-half" in Amsterdam and Eindhoven, and volunteered for two years as webmaster for the IMPRO Amsterdam festival. In 2025, he founded the production company The Redacted Bureau and staged his first one-act play. He went on to coordinate a production of Sartre's "Behind Closed Doors," and in spring 2026 directed Jeremy Keighley's "Sunday Morning" for InPlayers' "Fresh Ink."

Katya Timofeeva (based in Utrecht) is a visual artist and theater maker. She is currently engaged in an artistic research that centers around a fear/a love for repetition: in the world around us, in language, in gesture, and in ourselves, of course… Working across text, visual art and theater, the work is shaped by repetitions and rehearsals of found materials, overheard phrases, participatory encounters, and the uneasy dialogue between global politics and personal life. She is also part of a theater duet “uneventful catastrophes” with Chris Handberg.

Niki Christoforidou is an actress and performance maker from Greece whose artistic work lies at the intersection of theatre, instant composition and devised theatre. She began her training in acting in Greece and later completed her Master's degree in Home of Performance Practices with a specialisation in Expanded Choreographyat ArtEZ University of the Arts in the Netherlands.
